Community Leader Agreement
Version 2026-08-04. This agreement applies only to separately verified adult community roles. It does not create ordinary Somba membership.
Somba is youth-centered for ages 13–17. Approval is manual and discretionary. Paying for community capacity never guarantees approval or access to minors.
Your limited role
You may manage only the community and role Somba approves. You may invite eligible teenagers through the age-routed invitation process, post in group-visible spaces, remove community members, and report safety concerns. You may see only the limited member information needed to supervise that community.
What you must never do
- Become or act as an ordinary Somba member.
- Browse or search for teenagers or view unrelated Nets, Signals, profiles, maps, or recommendations.
- Follow teenagers, send connection requests, or privately message a teenager.
- Join another Net without separate approval.
- Download member information or transfer control to an unverified person.
- Share your account or permit another adult to use it.
Communication and safety
Adult communication must remain group-visible, permanent, reviewable, and subject to Somba moderation and audit logs. If a matter concerns one teenager, another approved adult or Somba moderator must be included. Attempts to move contact off-platform may be flagged and reviewed. You must promptly report suspected exploitation, abuse, imminent harm, or other safety concerns.
Capacity and billing
A community has no fixed member limit, but it does have a floor: it cannot admit anybody until at least one verified leader has been approved for it, and Somba can require more approved adults, or a written moderation plan, before a community grows further. What a paid plan buys is management capacity. It never buys approval, and it never buys easier access to minors.
Where a community is on a paid plan, the terms are these. The fee is monthly and is charged to the organisation or the leader who agreed to it. It renews automatically each month until it is cancelled. Cancelling can be done at any time by writing to safety@somba.dev, and takes effect at the end of the month already paid for.
Cancelling does not close the community. The Net, its conversation, its history and its members stay exactly as they are; what stops is the paid tooling. A leader can ask for an export of the community's own record at any time, and can ask Somba to close the community, which removes it for everyone in it. Somba does not delete a community for non-payment.
Paying does not make an application more likely to be approved, and a refund is not owed for a period in which a community was suspended for a safety reason. Somba may suspend or close a community for safety at any time, paid or not.
Approval and enforcement
You must provide truthful identity, age, organization, position, and connection information. Somba may verify that information, deny the application, narrow the role, audit adult actions, suspend access, or end a community to protect members.
